Westfield at Stratford

Went there with hubby yesterday to make a start on Christmas shopping & can't really say that I'm going to rush back. It was just full of clothes & shoe shops and mostly shops you would find on any high street. On the upside it did have lots of places to eat & a pub called The Cow, which I just had to visit. I think the one thing which made the experience unbearable was it was far too hot in the main building.
Managed to get my mum's Christmas present & picked up some ideas for Mother in Law.
Was glad to get home for a cuppa tea & get back to my knitting.

Socks

Currently trying out the magic loop method for a pair of socks. So far so good. The pattern has cable in, so also trying no cable needle cabling & that's going well too.
Will upload piccy once further through the pattern.

What a fab evening

Had my first Slimming World weigh in tonight since I rejoined and I lost 4lb. Really really chuffed.

Also found out via twitter that I'd won some wool from The Sock Yarn Shop, really chuffed by that too and can't wait for the postman to arrive with my prize

Holiday Blues

Well back home now from a wonderful holiday on narrow boat Acumen II. Didn't manage to get much knitting or crochet done while away, but now looking forward to catching up and starting new projects.

As it is Wool week think I'm going to have a look at getting some lovely new wool to knit hubby a wonderful warm pair of socks - think I'm going to pop over to Sock Yarn Shop to look at their wonderful wares

Crochet Phone Cases

I've decided with my odd bits of wool, that I'm going to make phone cases. They should be hard wearing as they've been made using sock wool.

Here are a couple that I've already made.

I may make more to be sold at the Colchester WIG's (W.I. Girl's) to help them raise additional funds.

Girl's Night Out

Not much knitting done this evening as I've been out for a spot of nosh at Harvester with some really good friends from my old job. It was great to catch up with them as it's been about 6 weeks since we last got together.


For next months get together, we're hoping to go to the cinema to see The Inbetweeners. Can't wait for that

Five Parishes Show

So so chuffed. Came back from The Five Parishes show, with two 1st and a highly commended on the exhibits that I entered. Both the necklace and the child's knitted article got the 1st and the soft cat toy got highly commended :-)

Back home and I'm carrying on with knitting my waistcoat

Well today I have finished the last entry for the Five Parishes Show, a quilled card. My other entries are adult knitted socks, knitted baby's top, soft toy, a necklace and a photo i've taken.
