Boris's view on giving the flag away
Tremendously proud and more than a bit sad - like the father of a bride - to give away that flag tonight. London, you put on a great show! -- Boris Johnson (@MayorofLondon)

London 2012
On Wednesday, Mark & I went to a very sunny Stratford and entered the Olympic Park to watch the mornings session of the Paralympics Athletics.
We saw David Weir in the 800m heats and him getting his Gold Medal for the 1500m.
The atmosphere was brilliant and we cheered everyone on.
After our session had finished we went for a walk through the park along the canal. The park is very beautiful, with lots of meadow/wild flowers being grown.
We arrived at one of the big screens and sat down on the grass to watch the end of GB v USA in the Wheelchair Rugby followed by watching GB v USA in the Wheelchair Tennis.
This was then followed by a trip up the Orbit. The view from the top was fantastic and we could see into the Olympic Stadium.
By now it was time to leave to catch the train home :-( which was a very sad moment in a awesome brilliant memorable day.
